In co-operation with our partner Plötzeneder, a thawing device was built that significantly accelerates the thawing process of deep-frozen active ingredients (drug substance). This makes production planning considerably easier and contributes to a more efficient process organisation.

The most important features of the thawing unit include:
- The flexible design of the thawing unit enables both frozen bags and bottles to be thawed evenly on one level.
- Use of HEPA-filtered air to minimize the risk of cross-contamination and ensure a safe working environment.
- A hygienic design of the inner chamber that enables easy and efficient cleaning of the entire area.
- Supporting the even defrosting process with an integrated shaking motion that ensures better heat transfer.
The successful handover of the project took place in July 2024, allowing the appliance to be put into operation on schedule.
